Unbeachy Photos – Potipot Gateway, Candelaria, Zambales

It was wierd, wierd shoot. I was in Candelaria a couple of towns away from Pangasinan. It was about 6 hours way from Manila and I wasn’t really interested in shooting the beach. Like most photographers here or abroad, we all have our fair share of beach images. Somehow we get infected of the “we have to shoot because we are in the beach”-itis. While it is not a very dangerous disease, it gets irritating already. I get irritated I haven’t shot anything new in the past month except for a chance to shoot RC cars.

When I was in Candelaria, I bring out my camera reluctantly because I know, I may not be able to use it aside from shooting the family. Well this time I pushed myself to shoot by thinking less “beach” but more on the basics. “Basic” in the sense that I looked for design elements rather than telling a story about my day on the beach. I want to take out the mindset that I was at the beach, rather I wanted to take photos that has nothing to do with how we visualize being at the beach. Wierd huh? Anyway, here are some of the results. Feel free to comment or criticize or whatever, I can just edit it. HAHAHAHA
